What do you think about when you hear of the past 50 years? There was a jubilee of Aichi prefecture chapter of Tai Chi Yang Ming-Shi Style at Aichi Prefecture Gymnasium today. It’s wonderful that people have kept enjoying doing Tai Chi for half a century since Mr. Yang began teaching it here in Nagoya.
Ms. Yang Kay was talking about the 50 years of the chapter when I arrived at the gymnasium with my friends. After her lecture, there was a performance of Japanese drum players. That was wonderful. I found myself dancing with the beat.
There were more than 2,000 people in the big meeting. We were divided into some groups, each of which had about from 300 to 500 people, and did form 24 Tai Chi. I did Tai chi together with other 500 people in the group of Turtle. Other groups are Crain, Dragon, and so on.
The Tai Chi that people were doing in a circle is called hyakka-ken. It expresses a big flower. Each person is a beautiful flower in their own life, and they make a big flower together by doing Tai Chi to pray for happiness and good health each other.
Those in white do-gi are teachers. Their performance was wonderful! I’d like to improve! Anyway, I was able to meet some of my friends, learned some things, and had a good time there.
